Happy Pride month, y’all!
The time has come to celebrate the vibrant and diverse LGBTQ+ community. June is here, bringing long days, the sun shining, and a global wave of Pride celebrations. This month, we not only celebrate these identities but also remember the history that brought us here. Have you ever wondered why we celebrate Pride in June?
Well, you came to the right place because we have the answer for you!
On June 28th, 1969, the Stonewall Riots ignited a revolution, marking a pivotal moment for LGBTQ+ rights. This month commemorates that powerful uprising, a catalyst for the vital change we desperately needed. While hate and injustice are rampant, incredible strides have been made over the past five decades. By keeping this tradition alive, we continue to raise awareness, shift societal attitudes, and promote inclusiveness.
But let’s be clear—support for the LGBTQ+ community isn’t just a June affair; it’s a year-round commitment.
At 3 Sided Cube, we are proud to stand in solidarity with this resilient and unapologetic community and welcome the opportunity to be allies.
The tech industry has long been known as a ‘boys club,’ historically dominated by straight white men. However, diversity and inclusion have finally begun to take root and reshape this dynamic sector. We’ve made remarkable progress recently, and we’re proud to be part of the defining industry of our time. But, we can’t afford to ease off the gas now.
Progress has been made, but there’s still much more to achieve.
At 3SC, we are dedicated to championing inclusivity. Our Head of People, Emillie Harmer, shares why prioritising inclusivity is essential to our mission.
As a team, we've invested time in understanding the challenges that are faced by the LGBTQ+ community. When we educate ourselves, we develop a greater understanding of the diverse communities we all live in and we learn how to support each other as individuals. Ultimately that education not only helps to make us better humans, but also helps us better understand how to build tech that is inclusive for all. null
In an effort to keep the conversation going and shine a spotlight on how technology can support the LGBTQ+ community, we wanted to share some of our favorite platforms at the moment. These range from health and safety resources to advice platforms and access to much-needed safe spaces. We are massive proponents of tech becoming more inclusive and providing vital support to those who need it.
Technology has had a massive impact on empowering and educating the LGBTQ+ community, contributing significantly to a more inclusive society. Let’s check out the different ways modern technology can continue to break through barriers and offer essential support to the community.
6 great platforms that we're loving at the moment:

They envision a tech industry where LGBTQ+ people are empowered, well represented and have full agency, from intern to CEO. A community and social platform for the community and their allies
Amino is the fastest-growing community and chat platform for young LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Pansexual, and Gender Nonconforming) people and their allies. Meet new friends (or possibly dates!), express yourself, and share your opinion in a safe space and welcoming environment. LGBT+ Amino is a forum, community, and chat platform all rolled into one.
Safe, honest and open space for grief in the LGBTQ+ community
At The New Normal charity, it is their mission to connect young adults to help and support one another through life’s difficult moments. They are on a mission to normalise the grief process for those bereaved young and to give them the forum to talk through their experiences of grief in a supportive environment surrounded by those who have been through similar anguish. The groups are proudly run not by professionals but by young people who have lived with grief themselves, allowing you to open up freely, without fear of taboo or judgement.
