Design Inspiration: Four Beards. One Pencil. Vol. 1
On a semi-regular basis, the bearded members of the 3 SIDED CUBE creative team share eight things that they are loving which have stimulated their designer minds. With four beards* and one pencil between the team, they scour the web and our local community to show the sparks of creativity that inspire the projects they work on.

This time round newest member of the crew Josh tells us what’s tickled their beards.

1) App design of the month:
The dating app OkCupid is changing the game.
Making use of illustration and a cleaner user interface, along with bringing in topical issues to help find your perfect partner. Who says you shouldn’t discuss politics?
2) A bit of birthday inspiration:
To celebrate James ‘Rozzy’ Rosenberg’s birthday we felt there was only one way show our love for our head of creative tech. By taking to the laser cutter and making a little plaque of him in all his fluffy cuteness.
3) A hotel design we're loving:
This amazing brand partnership between Tablet Hotels and Volvo.
Visitors are welcomed to this super cosy Swedish lodge not only get to enjoy the extreme comfort but also get full complimentary access to the car manufacturer’s latest model to explore the astonishing scenery.
4) Health snack of the month:
There are so many subscription boxes on the market but this one stands out for us. Tribe is a sports nutrition snack company that tailor their box to your training needs.
5) A typeface we're loving right now:
We think the Poppins typeface is pretty super (califragilisticexpialidocious).
“Yeah okay, good work guys... Bad pun, move on.”
6) This month's must have coffee:
Pact El Moral. A new taste for our design team.
We’re designers, we’re fuelled by caffeine… Yes, it’s a cliché. We know. But this stuff not only has our beards tickled but our taste buds too. Try it. It’s bitterness balances just how sweet our design skills are.
7) Tech inspiration of the month:
Wheel by Miniot; The record finally gets the turntable it deserves. This minimalist record player ticks all our boxes, slick design, great user experience and simplicity that we love. Find it on Kickstarter and help to make this happen.
8) News of the month:
A blast from the past gets a modern-day update. The resurrection of the Nokia 3310. But is it hot or not? Can we ask Motorola to bring back the Razr?!?!
