Happy Pride month, y’all!
June’s here, the days are long, the sun is shinin', and a global wave of Pride is rolling from São Paulo to Seoul. It’s colour, community, and celebration, but it’s also a history lesson in technicolour.
Why June? In the early hours of 28 June 1969, patrons of New York’s Stonewall Inn fought back against injustice and ignited the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. Every rainbow we raise today is stitched with that spirit of defiance and hope.
So yes, throw glitter, dance in the streets, take up space. Just remember: allyship isn’t seasonal.
Yet amid the confetti, real threats loom. Across the globe, bills targeting trans healthcare, drag performers, and inclusive education are multiplying. Pride began as a protest, and that urgency still matters.
At 3 Sided Cube we build tech to make a difference, and that means standing shoulder‑to‑shoulder with the LGBTQ+ community all year round.
Our industry was once a notorious boys’ club, but diversity is finally rewriting the code. We’re proud of the strides we’ve made, yet we know the sprint isn’t over. Progress is software, we’re always shipping the next version.
Let’s keep pushing. Let’s keep building. Let’s keep Pride alive, 365.
At 3SC, we are dedicated to championing inclusivity. Our Head of People, Emillie Fenton, shares why prioritising inclusivity is essential to our mission.
We’ve leaned in. Listening, learning, and really seeing the hurdles our LGBTQ+ friends face. Every insight makes us stronger teammates sharper builders, because tech that serves everyone starts with genuine empathy.
Tech that Stands with the LGBTQ+ Community
We’re all about keeping the Pride conversation rolling, so we’re spotlighting six apps supporting the LGBTQ+ community—from personal‑safety guardians to virtual safe spaces. At 3 Sided Cube, we know tech only rocks when it lifts everyone, and these platforms prove it.
Digital tools have cracked closets wide‑open and linked queer folks across continents. But the next version is always loading. Dive in to see how inclusive, human‑centred tech keeps smashing barriers and building louder, safer, prouder spaces for all.
6 great platforms that we're loving at the moment:
A caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them
PFLAG is the heart and soul of support for LGBTQ+ individuals and their families. Established in 1973, PFLAG unites parents, families, friends, and allies in their mission to promote the health and well-being of the LGBTQ+ community. With over 400 chapters, PFLAG offers peer support, education, and advocacy, making the world a more loving and inclusive place, one family at a time.
Uniting the LGBTQ+ tech community
Out in Tech unites the community by creating opportunities for their members to advance their careers, grow their networks, and leverage tech for social change. They envision a tech industry where LGBTQ+ people are empowered, well represented and have full agency, from intern to CEO. They firmly believe this will lead to equity and belonging for all underestimated groups.
Crisis intervention for the community day or night
When it comes to crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQ+ youth, The Trevor Project is the lifeline many turn to. Founded in 1998, Trevor offers 24/7 support through calls, texts, and chats, ensuring that no one has to face their struggles alone. With a wealth of resources and relentless advocacy, The Trevor Project is dedicated to saving lives and building a brighter future.
Empowering the LGBTQ+ youth to define their own journey
The It Gets Better Project is all about spreading hope and inspiration. Launched in 2010, this incredible non-profit uplifts LGBTQ+ youth with stories from people who've been there, overcome challenges, and found happiness. With a treasure trove of user-submitted videos and educational resources, It Gets Better reminds us all that life does get better—and brighter—when we stick together.
A community and social platform for the community and their allies
Amino is the fastest-growing community and chat platform for young LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Pansexual, and Gender Nonconforming) people and their allies. Meet new friends (or possibly dates!), express yourself, and share your opinion in a safe space and welcoming environment. LGBT+ Amino is a forum, community, and chat platform all rolled into one.
Safe, honest and open space for grief in the LGBTQ+ community
At The New Normal charity, it is their mission to connect young adults to help and support one another through life’s difficult moments. They are on a mission to normalise the grief process for those bereaved young and to give them the forum to talk through their experiences of grief in a supportive environment surrounded by those who have been through similar anguish. The groups are proudly run not by professionals but by young people who have lived with grief themselves, allowing you to open up freely, without fear of taboo or judgement.
Keep the Spark Alive
Inclusivity is a verb, not a season. So let’s keep turning curiosity into code. For proof that tech can really move the needle, queue up our Igniting Change podcast. In it, we chat with Michael from Worthy Mentoring to show how mentorship + smart tech = bridges built, gaps closed. Tune in, pass it on, and keep engineering the future Pride deserves.
It’s an episode you won’t want to miss—tune in and prepare to be inspired!
