An app to elevate farmers into the tech world and out of poverty

An app to elevate farmers into the tech world and out of poverty, and level up Good Nature Agro's incredible initiatives.

The challenge?

Since 2014, Good Nature Agro has been all about growing their impact. Their mission is clear: lifting smallholder farmers from poverty and placing them within the middle class by helping them grow high-value legumes for premium markets. They’re all about ensuring every farmer experiences change that’s deep and wide-reaching.

Their journey hasn’t been without its bumps. The manual and elbow-grease-heavy methods they had been using since their inception were becoming a bit of a roadblock. They were on the lookout to push beyond these constraints and level up their incredible initiatives. That’s where we, the 3 Sided Cube team, come in!

GNA had its eyes set on developing a slick new platform with three goals:

  • Elevated Farmer Engagement: Level up support for farmers with tailored, in-depth backing that keeps getting better every year.
  • Solid Market Connectivity: Create steadfast market connections for farmers, bringing stable and reliable outlets for their produce.
  • Unified Stakeholder Integration: Make the mingling of farmers with crucial agribusiness players smooth and seamless under one well-oiled machine.

GNA is all about bolstering African small-scale farmers and we couldn’t wait to build them a digital solution that would shave off the rough edges and streamline their operations, in order to generate even more reach and impact.

The solution.

We knew we needed something accessible, compatible, user-friendly, and in sync with the farmers’ needs, so we built an Android app cost-effective and easier to get into the hands of GNA’s farmers.

We built a digital hub, designed to feed all the essential info directly to the farmers, and integrating from the app to CMS. Even when Wifi isn’t available, users are able to upload all the data they gathered once they are able to access an online zone.

While the design is dialed back due to compatibility requirements, it is meticulously crafted to provide optimal utility and user experience. This ensures that the app not only meets the immediate needs of GNA and the farmers but also provides a scalable and adaptable platform that can evolve in line with future requirements and technological advancements.

Our ridiculously talented team was able to craft an app that’s practical, resourceful, and the perfect solution to elevate GNA farmers into the tech world and out of poverty.
