12 Days of Cubemas #5: Volunteering at the Beach

CUBE is a Bournemouth app agency and we’re extremely proud of that fact. Our community is thriving and we’ve been known to spend a few summer afternoons (working of course) at the beach.

It was this love for our seaside town that inspired the fifth day of CUBEMAS, giving up a few hours of our time on a Thursday to clean and clear our local beach.

We found a surprising amount of buried waste ranging from plastic bottles to unidentifiable pieces of plastic, and even a set of beach hut keys (we feel very bad for the owner).

Most shocking was the number of courageous souls braving the Christmas weather to make the most of the great surfing conditions!

Not that we needed any extra motivation, but with Christmas spirit in the air the team were feeling excited to see who could collect the most rubbish (in retrospect this doesn’t sound that exciting).

At the end of the day, dev Nikos had managed to come out on top and was rewarded with a well deserved, much needed warm hot chocolate.

Bournemouth beach is something that our community is extremely proud of, and what better way to give back to the community and everyone who enjoys spending so much time in the much-loved location.
