5 Minutes With Tatiana

Hi there, I’m Tatiana! An enthusiastic IT professional. I have been interested in IT since I was 12, and my Dad gifted me with my first computer. Since that day, I was hooked, and quickly became the person that helps my friends and family with all of their computer or phone issues.

I was born and raised in Lithuania, where I started working towards my degree in Computer Science. Which led me here, to Bournemouth, where I finished it and decided to settle down. I have worked in retail management, and web design. Now, 1 husband and 2 beautiful children later, and I couldn’t be happier at the journey life has taken me on.

The latest being my new job at 3 Sided Cube!

I am a part of the testing team which means that my role is to ensure the quality of the development that is going through the production team. The main reason we have a testing team is so we can provide the best apps for our clients so they are confident they are getting the absolute best product!

Many call me Tanya as it’s the short version of Tatiana.

Honestly, once my Dad bought me a computer, there was no going back. It inspired a love of technology that has never wavered since being a young, curious girl in Lithuania.

My first impression was just this immediate feeling that I was a part of something special. That even though I have only just begun, I am right where I belong. It’s nothing but positive vibes and every more positive, great people. And that impression is just from my initial, virtual start. I cannot wait to be in the bright, open office one day soon (hopefully)!

The values and ethos align with my own, so I really cannot imagine a better fit for a job. It is my passion to make the world a better place for my girls, and I know that 3 Sided Cube is constantly working at that lofty goal.

Something that was important to me, was working a job that I was proud of. Not just something to pay the bills and do my time 9 to 5. I wanted to be a part of a company making an actual difference. 

When I came across the job posting for Cube, I couldn’t believe my luck. A company working tirelessly to make a difference. I wanted to be a part of that! No matter what project I work on, we are all fighting natural disasters, finding solutions for the plastic crisis or getting record blood donations in a pandemic, it is exhilarating being part of the process.

I firmly believe in continuous growing and learning. You can never know and do everything, so enjoy the process of getting more experience and knowledge under my belt! In the future, I would love to see myself moving into automation testing. To be able to bring my knowledge from 3 Sided Cube into a management role in that sector would be the ultimate goal.

You can find me looking for the perfect wave. The wind and sea in Bournemouth is what brought me here, and made me decide to never leave! My husband and I came here to learn English, and now all these years later, our English is great and we have settled into a place we absolutely love.

Windsurfing is a favourite pastime of mine! My family does it together, and it’s become so much more than a hobby, but more of a lifestyle for us!

Would probably be an app for elderly people to help teach them how to use apps and tech, in a way that is straightforward and simple. I visualise it as something that would walk through the process of using modern technology in a way that doesn’t make them feel lost or overwhelmed. But empowered and educated when they work through various learnings on the app!

Probably a glass of white wine. The best way to wrap up the week is with a cheeky Chardonnay!
