In the past year, there has been a recruitment whirlwind at Cube! Our team is growing massively, which means we have had tons o’ Nubies to join the flock. We all LOVE when someone joins the agency. It means our team is growing, we’re getting more experience, and a whole new person to induct into our ranks.
It’s always met with loads of fanfare and we pull out all of the onboarding stops to give them the warmest welcome (virtually).
Without further ado, I’d like to introduce Michael!
Introduce yourself
Hi all, I’m Michael and I’m the new sales and marketing executive. I’m excited because this role sits between the sales and marketing team, more teammates for me!
I currently live in Portsmouth but am loving having an excuse to come to Bournemouth and work from our bright and happy HQ…I think relocation is in my future! But until then, I am loving being able to come to town to spend time with my boyfriend and get to know my colleagues face to face. Something I appreciate all the more after onboarding in the midst of the latest lockdown.
Any nicknames we should know about?!
Unfortunately, I don’t have any embarrassing or wacky nicknames but my friends do call me Mike or my grandad will call me Mick. I have a feeling I’m in for some fun new ones at 3 Sided Cube!
What is your role at 3 Sided Cube?
Being fabulous is my main role at 3 SIDED CUBE!
All jokes aside. I’m here to aid the sales and marketing teams with any administration duties and to streamline processes with Hubspot. I also get to work with a bunch of amazing and inspirational woman within my team!
How did you get into tech?
I’ve always appreciated tech from a young age – had all the game consoles smartphones. Then went into a tech agency and just loved what tech was doing and all the hidden elements that the user doesn’t see.
I left there and came to 3 Sided Cube as I wanted to stay within the tech field but for it to be more meaningful. That why I came to Cube. I wanted to be a part of the TECH FOR GOOD movement and help companies to build these life-saving apps and make that positive impact on the world!
What was your first impression of 3 Sided Cube?
Three things to describe my first impression – FUN, FRIENDLY & BADASS. The office matches exactly.
Joining Cube virtually was definitely strange but everyone was super friendly and made me feel like I was a part of a community from day 1. You can see and hear the commitment that everyone has in working towards the same goal of TECH FOR GOOD and it felt amazing to be a part of that.
The fact that dogs roam around the office gives you and sense of what it’s really like to work here.
It’s safe to say that my first impressions were met!
What was your aspiration to work in tech for good?
I mentioned this above, but I wanted to be a part of something that would change lots of lives for the better. The sense that I would be a part of something bigger. That was the main driving force in me applying…and hoping my application would be successful so I could be a very proud proponent of the ‘for good’ sector!
My role – qualifying leads play a big part in that – making sure people are answered with haste and meetings are booked to ensure that good customer service and aid the movement along the sales pipeline.
What are some goals you want to meet at Cube?
- To enhance the processes for Sales/Marketing so we can be the best!
- Being successful in getting more quality leads through the door/nurture and then become part of our amazing clientele.
- To become more confident about my abilities and skills and really hone in on what I do best!
What do you do for fun when you aren’t changing the world at Cube?
Love a good bottomless brunch, hanging out with family and friends, jetting off on Holiday and exploring different cultures!
If you were an app, what would it be/do?
LGBTQ+ – Knowledge is Pride. This app would help to educate people on the history of the community and could be a tool used in primary education to help block homophobia and the abuse that a lot of the community faces. It could also be a place where people recommend places to travel eat etc.
It would also be a safe space for people all around the world to connect and would have a private space where people can tell others about their experience or space where people how are too scared to come out in the real world and tell someone and get the help they need.
Last but not least, what is your HHH drink of choice?
Ooo there’s too many to choose from. My go-to would be a fruity Malibu and coke or If I’m going classy it would be a Long Island Ice Tea. Side note if I’m in the right mood, it would be shots of Black Sambuca.
